Here’s what we want to be

We are passionate about the types of people we want to be in the world. We hope you’ll come join us in our mission.

Relevant

We don’t want to be disconnected from our world. We want our youth to be relevant.

Relentless

Our world is tough. It can be overwhelming. We want our youth to be relentless, able to thrive with God in any environment, and we want to help them do it.

Real

It’s so much easier to fake it through our world. God created us to be real.

Respectful

We want our youth to love and value every human they meet. Changing the world begins with loving the person in front of you.

Revolutionary

God put us here to keep what needs to be kept and change what needs to be changed. We believe youth can lead the way in changing our world for the better.

Meet Some Graduates

DJ Green

DJ Green is the son of Darrel and Tabitha Green. In high school, DJ was a member of the Sports Leadership Academy for LHS. He was Captain of the football and track team. His bright smile was seen on screens around the Lewisburg High School as he gave sports reports regularly for Patriot Vision. DJ was involved with the Children of the Corn and led pep rallies. During his time at Lewisburg, DJ was voted amongst his peers as “Most Athletic” and Mr. Lewisburg High School. DJ was Captain of the football and track team. DJ was also recognized by faculty to serve as a senior advisor and inducted into the Lewisburg Hall of Fame. He graduated from LHS with special distinction. DJ is an active member at Easthaven, where he leads song, prayer, and communion. DJ also led youth devotions at OBCOC on Friday evenings. He now attends Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama where he was offered to play football. His major is Athletic training with a minor in religion. DJ hopes to one day play in the NFL.

Talexis Williams

Talexis Williams is the daughter of Tabitha Green and Antonio Williams. She is the sister of DJ Green. She graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Spanish and a Minor in Spanish. She was involved in the Forensic Science Society and the Afro-American Society. She currently attends Pine Belt Church of Christ and is an active member. Talexis plans to attend graduate school and then find a job in her field.

Tristen Parker

Tristen was born and raised in the church of Christ. He has always been an active participant in Sunday school and worship service. He hates missing church and always encourages others to go. As he grew older, he desired to do more. At the age of 10, he was baptized into Christ. He moved over to the new converts class where he really began to grow and plant firm roots in the word. He began serving in the church, including reading the scripture and leading the communion. He takes notes during service, studies his Bible at home, and shares God's word with his friends. All the time spent at church learning and growing in Christ has strengthened his Christian walk. Now he is 18 and starting his first year of college. One of the first things he did was find a church home. I thank the Easthaven church for instilling a strong biblical foundation for Tristen as he navigates adulthood. He is better prepared to face life knowing God is with him always.

Bria Goodson

My name is Bria Goodson, I am 25 years old and I have been a member of Easthaven Church of Christ all of my life. My Christian, collegiate and professional journey have always been most important to me. I gave my life to Christ in January of 2010. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology in 2020, then received a Master's of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration in 2021. I am currently living in Murfreesboro, TN and worshipping at Sandhill Church of Christ. I work as a Study Coordinator for Sarah Cannon Research Institute in Nashville, TN where I enroll cancer patients on to clinical trials, monitor their therapy progress and give updates to other clinical research organizations about each patient. Easthaven has encouraged me through each of these life phases. They have been one of the most influential groups of people in my life. Because of Easthaven, I have never wanted for anything. They provide me with spiritual guidance and everyday life help even as an adult. I have grown to understand that God is the source and light of my life and my relationship with God will determine how my life will prosper. Easthaven gives me the feeling of being comfortable at home. I am extremely grateful to have been born into this church and to still be active with them to this day.

Jules Payton

My name is Jules Payton. I am the daughter of Stephanie Bowers and Julian Payton. I have attended Easthaven all my life, it's my family's church home. I was baptized July 24, 2013 and I have been living through Christ ever since. I have grown up at Easthaven trying to set an example for my peers. I have participated in the youth conference, where I placed first place in the city conference, and I won Ms. Youth conference at the state level. I also participated in the Bible Bowl. Participating in these events helped me become the young lady that I am today. I attended Christian Brothers University, and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Minor in Criminology. I currently work at Lane Bryant Clothing Store, where I am a supervisor, while I continue to seek careers pertaining to my degree. My end goal is to become an FBI agent. With God being first and foremost in my life, I can do anything.
Aaron Lloyd

Youth Minister

I grew up in East Haven since I was a little kid; I made friends, had laughs, and grew up under the eye of the congregation. Now I have grown up and I can clearly see the blessings that I received from this place, but the biggest of them all is the will to work for The Lord. Now that I am in the Memphis School of Preaching, I look back and remember the sermons that I did for East Haven, the prayers I led, and the communion I presided over. It is a great thing to be able to serve The Lord, and East Haven has blessed me with that ability greatly. I am now working with the congregation as the youth minister, and I hope to impart the lessons taught to me, to my Youth Group so that they can look back like I do and say “Thank you.”

Come and see us.

We’d love to have you join us!
